Re: WHU team VS Watford?
? Of course he won't pick Carroll and Byram if they are unfit. Your line up is based on full fitness, which he may not have the option to do!

Re: WHU team VS Watford?
Byram is fully fit. He's been on the bench for the last match or two.

Byram is not, and never will be, PL quality. I really hope we can get something close to our money back this summer.

Re: WHU team VS Watford?
Randolph
Kouyate Fonte Reid Cresswell
Obiang Noble
Antonio Snodgrass
Lanzini
Carroll (if fit .... cough )

Kouyate got nutmegged against WBA but he is the best RB option we have IMO and although he sees himself as a midfielder he is a better defender. In a back 3 he will be able to get forward too with his runs down the flanks even though I think we will be better with 4 against Watford. Byram not good enough defensively IMHO.

Re: WHU team VS Watford?
Are we in the midst of another'minor' knock to Carroll that will keep him out of action for months? Or does someone actually rate Calleri?

Vexed 10:34 Mon Feb 20
Re: WHU team VS Watford?
And you have to play our only RB if fit. Stupid not to.

Re: WHU team VS Watford?
Vexed, Carroll may still be out according to our physio, and yes, Bilic rates Calleri. For some reason.

The bloke is made of matchsticks. Calleri is clearly a better option than Fletcher to be fair.

"Vexed, Carroll may still be out according to our physio..."

What? You mean last week's report where he said "We got Andy fit enough to face Middlesbrough and then also to face Southampton, but the West Bromwich Albion game came too quick and Andy is now working towards the Watford game."

You might be right but that hardly is a reason to think Carroll will miss the game surely?

Re: WHU team VS Watford?
Assuming Carroll plays:

Randolph

Byram (in the absence of anyone better)
Fonte
Reid
Cresswell

Obiang
Noble
Lanzini

Snodgrass
Carroll
Antonio

Ayew for Carroll otherwise.

Re: WHU team VS Watford?
For what it's worth when I went to the open training on Saturday the back four being drilled were:

Byram Fonte Reid Masuaku

No sign of Cresswell.

Re: WHU team VS Watford?
Eddie only because byrams a rb not a make do.
Fonte and reid better centre halfs and cant drop obiang or noble

Sir Alf 12:58 Mon Feb 20
Re: WHU team VS Watford?
I wage that Kouyate will make a better RB than Byram even though Byram was supposedly bought for that position :-) ? I do not know Byram's history at Leeds but I heard (admittedly from people on this site so possibly suspect) that he was played mostly as a right midfielder.

The old Kouyate midfielder versus defender debate will rage on. I think he could be a top wing back although the fact that he sees himself as an attacking midfielder may mean he has to move to get his way. IMO (often wrong) he is not technically good enough to play midfield and this season was dreadful in terms of his work rate getting back, Like I say, we have this argument a lot and he might come into midfield and become the new Patrick Vierra once more but for me he is closer to Mo Diame than Vierra simply down to poor technique and passing.

At RB, sure he got nutmegged by Chadli last game, but he is tall , great in the tackle normally, strong and good running with the ball from deep as a wing back ? Well that's just a hunch but Byram looks far too vulnerable to pace at RB and has the tendency to lunge in.

Opinions eh? :-)
